NO submissions at all yet for the contest or any new submissions to the club gallery for April!

We need to see some activity, boy and girls!

And there are some great prizes already for the contest, including jewelry and journal features galore!

Anyone else interested in donating a prize will be rewarded with a journal feature in *starlightblood's gallery, which will last until the end of the contest, whenever that happens to be. Donators may also participate!

Firstly:



Contests!

~TheBookBloggers is hosting is first ever contest! And boy has it been difficult! But here is the first contest, which will remain open-ended until we have a good healthy amount of posts!</sup>


The Contest:

If you could be any fictional character, who would it be and why?

Select any fictional character (from a novel, personally created, short story, etc.) that you love, and write a short explanation of why that character is wonderful and you might want to experience their life and adventures!

There is not specific length requirement, but we would like to see some effort, so use reasonable grammar and spelling please.

Most of all, be creative and have fun! This is prime time to show off your favorite characters and tell the world why would want to step into their shoes! Create the most convincing and passionate argument and you might just make us all wish we could be that person.

No deadline has currently been set, but more information will be announced as we hopefully recieve entries. Places for judges will also be made available in the future.

*Must be a member to participate* (But its easy to join if you're not yet! )


We need prizes! Please donate any prize... May be as small as a simple journal feature to a subscription or anything you could think of. All prize donators may still participate contest.

We are a literature based club but the moderators have been debating furiously about another topic that could go one of two ways. In an attempt to broaden ourselves to the community, we have thought to ask artists to join in, giving us visual perspective upon their favorite characters and scenes from books. If you think this would be appropriate for ~TheBookBloggers, please note us!!! We always love to hear from our community on topics and subjects! Please, please, please!

Blah, blah, blah, right? So, I'll get straight to the point!

You've either investigated this site for one of the few following reasons:

You're an avid reader and would like to post your opinions on books you have read or are reading
You are one bored SOB and decided to check out this 'club'
Or you've come to mock me for the geek that I am!!!

Anyway, enough of the rambling. I created The Book Bloggers as a fun way to debate with my friends over books we have read or are currently reading. So, instead of keeping this little adventure to ourselves, I have decided to share it with you! The main purpose of The Book Bloggers is to bring forth the reading community in a way that allows them to write reviews of written materials and voice their opinions on other reviews that our members have left. While I encourage debate, I strongly advise everyone to not:

Send a note to ~TheBookBloggers with the subject JOIN. You will be added to the members list as soon as possible and will then be eligible to send in your submissions.

To submit a review:</sup>
To submit a review, send the full text of the review to ~TheBookBloggers with the subject SUBMISSION. Your piece will be read by one of the moderators and then published in the gallery. Also, include the authors name, the name of the book, and your name.

FLAMES! I hate FLAMERS! And you will be kicked from the club if we receive any complaints that you are harassing other members. I encourage open minded debate, not closed off, irritating, and very childish insults of 'this sux b/c ur gay'.
Reviews have to be at least a few paragraphs long. State what the book is about, why you like and dislike it, and if you would recommend it to other readers. A simple 'This book rocked my socks off' isn't going to give anyone a good feel for the entire story.

Please use a little grammar.

Once you are a member, please place a watch upon the club.

Thanks to for the suggestions on how to better improve our club! We will now be accepting reviews on 'underground' stories[unpublished stories, dA authors, ectect] and we will be working on competitions and specialities that the members of out club can enjoy.

I hope everyone has a fun time in this club, as it is more of an open ended discussion on your favorite books and your favorite subjects! We will change the rules and regulations accordingly as the group expands. If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to give your advice on how we could better operate this club, feel free to note us with your suggestions. We are always open to help!
